Ella is 5 months!

at 5 months Ella is:

-sitting up all by herself, we usually keep a close eye on her because sometimes she gets really excited and starts kicking and loses her balance, but besides that she is doing pretty great.
-is now eating real food! she has tried bananas and avocados and loved both and today we are trying apples! her least favorite is definitely the cereal, but thats ok, i think it tastes pretty gross too :)
-has rolled over ONE time. from her back to her front and it does not really seem like she is interested in doing it again.
-weights 14.5 lbs and is 25" long
-LOVES to smile and giggle and laugh
-still sleeps about 8 hours a night with catnaps through out the day
-LOVES tv, thankfully i got some baby mozart so at least she is watching something a little constructive while i work
-is such a happy baby - everyone comments on how happy and easy she is and we know we are so lucky to have such a good baby
-we have learned that she does not like it when people applause or loud noises (but when she is asleep she can sleep through ANYTHING)

we have such a blast with her all the time. Every day michael and i look at her and just think, dang, how did we get so lucky to end up with such an amazing baby. she is so fun! and i will post pictures soon!

Crafty Cray

As i have mentioned before, my mother-in-law, Mary, is pretty much Martha Stewart (minus the whole going to jail and breaking the law thing.) Since I have moved back to California she has been showing me the way on how to create. And I love it. Here are some of the things we have created so far and she wanted me to start taking pictures of them to one day put on her website! She hopes to start her own business! Dont mind the wrinkly background, When I do this for real, I will make sure that I iron.

Being an adult

I have realized that i did not become an adult when i turned 18. It pretty much happened when I had a baby. Sure, I got married, paid bills, went to school and had a job. But i have noticed that there are things i do now that i never did before. I think it is because i have finally grown up. Here are some examples:

1. When i drop an ice cube from the ice machine, I no longer kick it under the fridge, I now throw it in the sink.
2. When i step on a cracker, or cereal, or anything crunchy that breaks into a million little pieces, i no longer keep walking like i didnt hear it, i get a broom.
3. I rinse my dishes, i havent quite made it straight to the dishwasher yet, but i am working on it.
4. I help prepare dinner, and always try and help to clean it up (michaels parents are kind enough to feed us every night, love those guys)
5. I floss. This is huge for me
6. I drink water most of the time.
7. I have stopped going to tanning beds. I think i realized that although i look good tan, it isnt worth possibly getting skin cancer. (dang)
8. I write Thank You cards
9. I call if i have a question on a bill, instead of making michael do it, or just ignoring it(hoping it would somehow resolve itself)
10. I now enjoy home made mac and cheese over the box kind. (if you want a bomb mac and cheese recipe check out Giada's recipe. BOMB)
11. I now ENJOY going to bed, and try to go to sleep at a reasonble hour.

It's so funny how when i was younger, the thought of taking out the trash, or doing dishes KILLED me. When we would have huge sunday dinners growing up I would always watch all the women help and clean up after dinner and i remember thinking "that sucks that they have to do that" and now that i am that age where I am the one helping, its no big deal. at all. You dont complaing about it because it has to be done. and that my friends, is why i am now a grown up.

Feel free to add your own!

ELLA UPDATE!
We had our 4 months appointment yesterday. She did get her shots, but she did really good. She is still a bit out of sorts, but thats nothing some tylenol and TLC cant fix. She is 13.06 lbs and 25" she is in the 50th percentile on everything except her weight, she is in the 25th %.
She is such an easy baby. We drove to utah to visit Mallory, and she did not cry, at all, in her carseat. She just took her naps and drank her bottle, and as long as someone was in the back to play with her while she was awake, she was a happy girl. I am so lucky :)
